7.9.3.3. Delete

  • Delete element

    1. In the Sketcher, click on the element that you want to delete.

    2. Select the Delete element command.

The sequence of the steps 1) and 2) is arbitrary.

-> The element is removed in the Sketcher, but the associated feature [Feature] is retained in the Sketch history. A relationship line is created from the Delete [Delete element] feature element [Delete element] to the feature of the deleted element (see following illustration). You will only see this relationship line when you display the subordinate features.

You can cancel the "delete" action.

    1. To do this, call up the context menu of the Delete element feature via a secondary mouse click.

    2. Select the Delete step command.

  • Conditionally delete element [Delete element with condition]: Linking the Delete function with a condition [Condition].

    1. Proceed as described in the Delete element function.

-> The Edit element docking window opens.

    2. Enter the desired condition [Condition] and confirm with OK.

-> In the example, the marked line will only then be created if the value for variable L is smaller than 10.

    [Note]Note

Conditionally delete element [Delete element with condition] should only be applied to individual sketch elements. Do not link this command to the entire sk etch, as this may invalidate the entire sketch!

To hide complete sketches, use the Condition option in the Rotation body [Rotational solid] or Extrusion body [Extrusion solid] dialog (see following figure).

Delete at dependent design elements

As soon as further constructions are created on surfaces of the 3D model (e.g. using Create new sketch on marked surface [Generate sketch on selected face] or Surface attributes [Face attributes...]...), the basic feature is highlighted in blue in the sketch history [Sketch history].

Furthermore the base line is highlighted brown.
