New portal for intelligent data of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitary products

At the latest since the debate about the Building Energy Act in Germany has flared up, the public's focus has been on heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and sanitary technology (HVAC). Since heating systems are largely responsible for energy consumption in buildings, there is great interest in making building technology more sustainable.

The software developer CADENAS is also making a contribution to this together with the two industry associations ARGE Neue Medien and the Bundesverband der Deutschen Heizungsindustrie e.V. (BDH) as well as the software developer RubiCon.

With a new mutual BIM portal, the strong associations with 113 and 121 industry members respectively are pursuing the goal of bundling their activities in this area in one place. It enables the central operation of current and future standards, ensures high data quality and at the same time reduces the effort and costs for the provision and procurement of TGA-relevant information.

Wolfgang Richter, Managing Director of ARGE, explains the intention behind the project: "The BIM data market is heterogeneous and sometimes also confusing. This is exactly where we are starting with our cooperation. Together, we want to meet the increasing market requirements for data and data quality in a sustainable, efficient and standardised way. With the experts of the BDH and the expertise of professional software partners such as CADENAS and RubiCon, we are well positioned within the project right from the start."

The responsible BDH department manager Ralf Kyrik is also convinced of the cooperation: "By merging our portals, we are opening up synergies through cost and time savings, but above all through optimised processes. In the end, this benefits both the manufacturers and the users of the product data. The digital BIM product data exchange is of strategic importance for all parties involved. Via our common platform, all digital technical product data for calculation, CAD design or procurement is made available to the market free of charge."

On 3Dfindit, CADENAS already provides components from numerous, different manufacturers in the form of CAD, CAE and BIM-capable 3D models for free download. In addition, the company acts as the operator of the previous ARGE BIM portal. Products from ARGE members can already be viewed and researched there in various forms of presentation. Configuration takes place in real time and more than 40 export formats are available for download.
