MULTI CAE Data Service
Interdisciplinary, high-quality product data for the Digital Twin
In the age of digitalisation, the provision of interdisciplinary product data has long since become mandatory for component manufacturers. Electrical engineers need information on schematic symbols, pins, component types (connector, cable, standard component, terminal, etc.) or parent-child relationships when selecting a suitable component. If this information is not provided with the digital part, electrical engineers time-consuming have to manually gather it from various sources.

Zuken Component Cloud for E³.series
In close cooperation with the Zuken team, CADENAS has developed an interface that can export native 3D CAD models directly into Zuken. In addition to the 3D geometry, all essential information of the components such as technical data in various languages, symbols, 2D views, classifications, fastening points, cross-sections and their positions as well as accessories and counterparts are exported directly into the CAE system. Via the Zuken Componentcloud zuken.partcommunity.com, users not only have the option of loading the high-quality components, validated by CADENAS for electrical planning as a digital twin, into their CAD system free of charge, but also benefit from the three certification levels that classify the components according to their quality. E3.Basic, -Certified and -Premium.

MultiECAD Data from CADENAS in EPLAN
As a software service provider, CADENAS has supported component manufacturers for many years in creating digital twins of their components as MULTI ECAD libraries in ECLASS Advanced format. With powerful interfaces, EPLAN data (*.edz, *.ema) are also created according to the new EPLAN DATA Standard (EDS). The libraries contain commercial data, logic macros, function templates, 2D and 3D macros for cabinet planning and drilling patterns for production. CADENAS supports customers from consulting, data creation (modelling and enrichment) and data publication on the data portal.
ECLASS Advanced
As an active member of the ECLASS association for several years, CADENAS participates in the design and further development of the only worldwide used data standard for goods and services of the ISO/IEC standard. For manufacturers of electronic components, the provision of intelligent product data has become indispensable. CADENAS advises and supports customers from data modelling and enrichment to the provision and maintenance of product data on the manufacturer portal. The focus here is on interdisciplinarity and compatibility with many CAD and ECAD systems.
Digital twins for a smooth electrical engineering process
In order to provide electrical designers with data tailored to their needs, CADENAS, in cooperation with Siemens, has developed an interface for NX Industrial Electrical Design, based on the ECLASS Advanced Standard, which can transfer all important component information, such as pin/terminal assignments, material master data, connection points, schematic symbols, various views, technical values, classifications or article numbers, directly into the target system. NX Industrial Electrical Design manages the data of the manufacturer catalogues within the Reuse Library. From here, the intelligent data can be used to create the schematic diagram as well as the control cabinet layout. The Reuse Library can be filled via the ECLASS Advanced Community Portal, which is based on the PARTcommunity technology from CADENAS. Starting from an overview of all available manufacturer catalogues, the electrical components can be selected via search and filter functions. This selection can then be transferred to the NX Reuse Library.

Embedded Library Portal
In the area of E/E system development, CADENAS also offers an integration together with Siemens that further advances automation. The newly developed CADENAS 3Dfindit.com browser-based search engine has been integrated into Siemens Capital and offers users the opportunity to radically reduce their administration and search efforts for high-quality electrical components and thus use their saved time more efficiently to develop creative products and accelerate time-to-market. Users working on a design can seamlessly import new parts into the Siemens Capital software solution and add them to their design with a single click. Parts imported from the parts library into Capital are enriched with all design-relevant metadata, such as master data, electrical connection points including type of connection, diameter, etc., 2D view and accessories.
Activating for Interfaces/PCOM
The Solid Edge Electrical Interface from CADENAS transfers attributes, geometry and attachment points directly into the CAD system and facilitates and speeds up electrical engineering through intelligent components directly from the manufacturer's catalogues powered by CADENAS.

NX Electrical Routing
The CADENAS interface for NX supports electrical routing with the transfer of all necessary part information. Using the attributes in the Routing Reuse Search, components can be found quickly, placed easily and without problems using the connection points and inserted simply into the cable plan using the supplied pin connectors. At the same time all relevant attributes are transferred.

AutoCAD Electrical Export
With AutoCAD Electrical, the most widely used tool for planning electrical systems in the USA, CADENAS also supplies the American market with intelligent components for electrical planning. The CADENAS interface allows users to export components directly into the AutoCAD Electrical database. Attributes, symbols and attachment points are transferred on an ECLASS Basic basis and stored as *.mdb directly in the database and are available to the user via the Catalog Browser.

SOLIDWORKS
SOLIDWORKS users can also benefit from a direct integration of the CADENAS software and thus have quick and easy access to thousands of digital manufacturer catalogues powered by CADENAS, with all information important for electrical planning, such as schematic symbols, connections, component types (connectors, cables, standard components, terminals, etc.) or parent-child relationships. Through the seamless integration of the CADENAS component database, SOLIDWORKS designers are supported by extended connection information in the 3D area of electrical planning.

Manufacturers who already rely on MULTI ECAD solutions from CADENAS
Who's participating?
CADENAS has been setting standards with the electronic product catalogues of eCATALOGsolutions technology since 1992.
Many of our certified manufacturer catalogs already rely on our Multi ECAD solutions and the number is constantly growing.
Customer testimonials
Provision of ECAD data easily possible even without existing classification
Even manufacturers who have not yet or only partially classified their product data with the ECLASS ADVANCED standard can provide their customers with high-quality CAE data with little effort. The metadata or attributes can be provided by the component manufacturer in an Excel table, for example. With its solution, CADENAS not only creates a comprehensive digital product catalogue based on this, but also provides cleanly classified product data at the same time. The components thus classified by CADENAS comply with the ECLASS ADVANCED standard and can be transferred directly into the manufacturer's PIM system.
