7.6.2.6.1.  Extrude...

If you want to remove an extruded 2D sketch from a solid proceed as follows:

Initial situation: Cuboid created on plane ZX

  1. Use the context menu command New Sketch [New sketch...]... to open the Sketcher and create a circle [Circle] that is positioned in such a way that it later penetrates the 3D solid when extruded.

    [Note]Note

The sketch can be seen in the 3D view so that you can check whether the position is basically correct.

  2. In the 3D history [3D History] under Sketch2, select the context menu command Cut -> Extrude.... [Extrude...]

-> The Extrusion body [Extrusion solid] dialog box opens.

  3. Do you want the extrusion to go through the entire body or simply through a certain length?

In the window Extrusion [Extrusion solid] body window, make the appropriate settings. You can immediately see the expected result in the 3D view.

In this example the cuboid shall be completely penetrated, which means the extrusion is performed in Both directions with the respective Length.

-> After confirming with OK , both objects are cut. A straight tube is subtracted from the cuboid.

-> Another item (feature) appears in the 3D history [3D History]: Cut extrude 1.

The explanation of the other fields can be found in Section 7.6.2.5.1, “ Extrude... ”.
